GSG Leads Launch Agri-Food Sustainability Frameworks at the Asia 100 Sustainable Agri-Food Forum

2025年08月29日

Hong Kong, August 2025 — Dingli Sustainable Data and Technology (GSG) participated in the Asia 100 Sustainable Agri-Food Forum (ASAF) held in Hong Kong, co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), GiveAsia, the International Sustainable Development Association (ISDA), and the China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation (CAPIAC).

Representing GSG, Dr. Wang Dequan presented as the lead researcher behind two landmark frameworks officially launched during the forum — the Sustainable Evaluation System for Agri-Food Value Chains and the Asian Agri-Food Symbiosis Initiative. These frameworks, co-developed by GSG, ISDA, World Resources Institute (WRI), and CAPIAC, establish a new foundation for advancing sustainability, transparency, and resilient growth across Asia’s agri-food systems.

The Sustainable Evaluation System introduces a science- and data-based methodology for assessing the performance of agri-food value chains, incorporating ESG metrics, carbon emission indicators, and resource efficiency criteria. The Asian Agri-Food Symbiosis Initiative complements this framework by fostering collaboration among producers, investors, distributors, and consumers to advance green finance, strengthen transparency, and accelerate the region’s low-carbon transformation.

“Data-driven frameworks are essential for building trust, attracting sustainable investment, and promoting real impact across agri-food systems,” said Dr. Wang Dequan, lead researcher and representative of GSG. “By working together with our international partners, we aim to empower decision-makers with measurable insights that drive the transition toward sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems across Asia.”

The forum convened government leaders, research institutions, and private sector executives to exchange insights on advancing sustainability, innovation, and resilience in Asia’s agri-food transformations. The initiatives launched align with FAO’s vision for sustainable food systems and contribute directly to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and regional climate action strategies.

As a key initiator and research partner, GSG will continue to deepen its expertise in sustainability data analytics, ESG evaluation modeling, and supply chain decarbonization. Collaborating closely with global organizations and regional stakeholders, GSG remains dedicated to advancing data-based solutions that enable transparent, low-carbon, and future-ready agri-food ecosystems across the Asia-Pacific region.
